Another First for PAG!

It's often said that we don't have a party political system of democracy in the Isle of Man. But we do have active Manx political parties and PAG has invited all four of them to take part in a political forum on Monday 24th September at the Manx Legion Club, Douglas.

It is planned for speakers from Manx Labour Party, Liberal Vannin, Mec Vannin and the IOM Green Party to each give a very short presentation about the aims and philosophy of their respective parties. After that it's open to the audience to ask questions and comment.

The oldest, the Manx Labour Party, celebrates a hundred years of political activity this month. It has a staunchly socialist manifesto. Mec Vannin was formed in 1962. Its constitution is republican. Liberal Vannin formed in 2006, strives for greater transparency and accountability in government. Founded in 2016 the IOM Green Party considers a green agenda to be the way forward for our island.

"Getting the parties together on one platform is a unique event in modern times. It is another first for PAG. We hope that
the public will come along to the Legion and take part in political discussion - we encourage questions and comments from the audience. The event is free and all are welcome to come along".
