Dignity in Dying

Speaker: Sarah Wootton, CEO of Dignity in Dying

19:30 Wednesday 22nd June

Manx Legion Club, Market Hill, Douglas IM1 2BQ

We also hope to hear from Quintin Gill MHK.

Sarah Wootton said:

“I am delighted to have this opportunity to debate the issues on the Isle of Man. Dignity in Dying has many supporters in the Isle of Man, and we in turn will offer our support to a Private Members Bill which would allow the choice of assisted dying to terminally ill, mentally competent adults, should a Member of the House of Keys choose to bring one in the new Parliament.

“There will be people with understandable concerns about changing the law, and I do hope they too will come to the meeting so that I and my colleagues can discuss those concerns.

“Too many people are suffering unbearably and against their wishes at the end of their lives, and the Isle of Man, which has a history of introducing progressive social legislation, could lead the way with a compassionate law to address this.”
