7.30 pm Monday 22nd September 2014

Manx Legion Club, Market Hill, Douglas

Positive Action Group (PAG) kicks off its Winter season of open public meetings by discussing a highly topical issue.

The IOM Government has given priority to bringing forward public consultation on the Equality Bill 2015.

PAG has decided to focus on one of the 7 protected characteristics of the legislation - Disability - and how that fits into the broader question of Human Rights

Gareth Foulkes is an eloquent IoM Champion for Deaf People and Paul Beckett is an IoM Advocate, specialising in Human Rights legislation and passionate about it.

As usual, following the formal presentations, the audience will be given the chance to ask questions and raise viewpoints.

It really is important for the public to get involved in helping to frame this new legislation by contributing to the Consultation.

PAG hopes that this meeting will help to kick-start wider public involvement in that process.

Come along, listen to the talk and debate the issue - the meeting is open to all and admission is free.
